Chef Stephanos Chrysanthou joined our team here at UPTOWN SQ. in August 2009 as Executive Chef and be in charge of our two operating restaurant kitchens as well as setting up for the new upcoming Chinese restaurant, which is under construction.
Stephanos energy and passion for food are boundless, he has started working closely with the kitchen teams of both Chesters and ZEN room in order to further enhance the operations and uplift the quality to the highest possible level.
Chef Stephano started learning his cooking skills in Nicosia at the Hotel & Catering Institute of Nicosia in 1982.
Then he moved to the United States of America. He graduated at the French Culinary Institute in New York City and Was taught by Master chef Jacques Pepin a celebrity chef that serves as dean of special programs at the institute.
He worked in New Jersey as a Sous chef at the French Restaurant of the Glen Ridge Country Club. After spending 5 years in the United States he came back to Cyprus. Chef Stephano has always been fascinated by the Mediterranean Cuisine.
Since 1993 that he came back to the Island he worked at some of the best 5 star hotel establishments.
Before coming to Uptown Square, he's been the Executive Chef at the Intercontinental Hotel since 2005.
His pride is the Mediterranean cuisine & culture. Chef Stephano believes that the Mediterranean cuisine is the healthiest & tastiest cuisine in the world. He wrote a book exclusively for Mediterranean diet. He's also a fan of the Asian cuisine & he is always experimenting new flavours at our restaurants.
Chef Stephano is now introducing the Mediterranean diet on our National Tv channel Rik 1 twice a week.
